Our Story
I'M A H.E.R.R.S. GIRL is a global non-profit community service organization, positioning girls to be leaders for gender equality. We’ve coached and mentored women and girls of all backgrounds to create tangible change for girls everywhere. I'M A H.E.R.R.S. GIRL provides mentorship, leadership and personal development workshops and conferences to give women and girls tools to become gender equality advocates and activists in their communities. Through our programs, women and girls broaden their social impact skill set, as well as benefit from a platform to tell their stories. Our "GIRL" leaders are change-makers at local, national, and global levels. We help raise awareness to various initiatives that impact women and young girls around the world and build community-based movements. I'M A H.E.R.R.S. GIRL was founded by Dr. Karen D. Lomax in 2019 and continues to work across a global community of partners to achieve gender equality worldwide.

GIRL desires to provide effective support and community partnerships in order to empower women and girls, ages 12 and up with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to transform themselves, their communities, and to make healthy decisions that will make an impact in every dimension of their lives.

Our Founder

Dr. Karen D. Lomax is the Founder and President of Karen Lomax Ministries, KAIROS Editing & Publishing, LLC, H.E.R.R.S. LLC Professional Life Coaching and H.I.S. outreach ministry. In May 2018, Dr. Lomax founded and launched the H.E.R.R.S. Life Coaching Academy to provide training and mentorship for other professional life coaches. She is dedicated to reconciling the loss back to God through her unique style of preaching, teaching, and mentoring. Dr. Lomax was consecrated as a bishop in Little Rock, Arkansas in October 2014 by ArchBishop Henry Alexander, Bishop LaVickie Alexander, and Bishop Diane Alexander. Dr. Lomax established Karen Lomax Ministries International in July 2015 and has used her platform to educate, equip, and empower the people of God for their Kingdom assignments.
Dr. Lomax is an honor graduate of Columbia College of Missouri, where she earned an A. A. in General Studies, an A.S. in Criminal Justice, a B.A. in Psychology, and a B.S. in Criminal Justice. She is also an honor graduate of Liberty University, where she earned her M. Div. for Chaplaincy, her M.A. in Pastoral Counseling - Life Coaching, and her M.S. in Criminal Justice. She has four life coaching credentials in Finances, Health & Wellness, Marriage, and Business. She is also a Certified SYMBIS Assessment Facilitator and Trainer. Dr. Lomax received her Doctorate of Humanities in October 2018 from Elbon Solutions College of Ministry for her outstanding efforts in global outreach. In June 2020, Dr. Lomax received her credential as a Board Certified Master Christian Life Coach and her Certified Christian Mental Health Coach in September 2020 from the International Board of Christian Care. In December 2023, Dr. Lomax earned her PhD in Biblical Studies from Oval Bible College and is pursuing her PhD in Life Coaching and Christian Counseling from Newberg Theological Seminary.
Dr. Lomax serves her community as a member of the Assistance League of North Coast and a volunteer at Dynamic Church Planters International in Oceanside, CA. She is a veteran of the United States Army and currently serves as the Command Chaplain for the 416th Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Battalion (Airborne) in Fallbrook, CA. She is the first African-American chaplain (male or female) to serve as the Battalion Chaplain for the 416th and is currently the only African-American female officer within the 416th. In addition, Dr. Lomax is an active board member and Chief Spiritual Advisor for Healing Hearts Angels Outreach Ministry in St. Louis Missouri. This allows her to positively influence a group of young ladies seeking to be part of something bigger than themselves and make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. She was nominated as the San Diego Region Global Goodwill Ambassador in March 2018. On April 10, 2021, Dr. Lomax was sworn in as a Diplomatic Missions Ambassador with the Federation of International Gender and Human Rights. She is the Advisory Council Lead representing the United States. In February 2024, Dr. Lomax was appointed the Executive Vice President of Harbor Heritage University in New York City. This is the only Human Rights University in the world.
Dr. Lomax is the author and co-author of 13 best-sellers which are available for retreats, coaching seminars, and women's groups. Her various literary skills and knowledge have made Dr. Lomax one of the most sought-after Christian Coaches, motivational speakers, and mentors, globally. Because of the work, she does with women in the international arena, in September 2020, Dr. Lomax was inducted into the Global Library of Female Authors.
Dr. Lomax is the proud mother of two children and currently serves as the Associate Pastor for Atmosphere of Faith Christian Church under the leadership of General Overseer Larry Sauls, Jr, and Lady Elizabeth Sauls. Dr. Lomax believes the most effective leader is one who knows how to follow and work well with others. When life gets difficult, she finds comfort in her favorite Scripture, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11).

As a member of I'M A H.E.R.R.S. GIRL, I promise…
- To attend at least one H.E.R.R.S. workshop, group session, or seminar within a year of becoming a member.
- To assist, host, or facilitate(coaches only) an empowerment workshop, or seminar, a vision board party, or a mentorship session (mentors only).
- To encourage, empower, and motivate other members
- To help I'M A H.E.R.R.S. GIRL maintain the positive, friendly environment necessary for all women and girls to learn and grow
- To treat all members with respect and courtesy
- To encourage other women and girls to become members or support the I'M A H.E.R.R.S. GIRL Network
- To adhere to the guidelines and rules set forth by I'M A H.E.R.R.S. GIRL programs
- To maintain and exhibit honest and highly ethical standards
